Urmila came to our hostel facility in 2017 when she was seven years old. She is from a Dalit caste (so-called lower caste) and from an extremely poor family background. Her dad passed away in India during his seasonal labor work when Urmila was still young. After the death of her father in India, her mom married another man and left her with her old grandmother who was too old to take care of her. Urmila is happy to call our hostel facility her home.
