Dan Bahadur came to our hostel facility in 2018 at the age of five.  His father died of lung infection when he was two years old. His mom ran away with another man a year later. Since then, Dan Bahadur had been living with his grandfather with minimal care. Dan Bahadur comes from the Dalit case (so-called untouchable caste). When he arrived at our hostel facility in 2018, he was the youngest among all children at the facility. He comes from a small remote village in Dailekh district in Western Nepal.
